The Climate Action Navigator consists of assessment tools that address a range of topics related to climate action, such as land-use change, sustainable mobility, and greenhouse gas emissions accounting. The Climate Action Navigator’s tools assess different key dimensions of local and regional climate action, harnessing data from OpenStreetMap and enriching them with remotely sensed data and other public datasets. By striving to use freely accessible data and software tools whenever possible, we help to maximize the potential impact and usefulness of our indicators.
In collaboration with our partners, we are addressing various key aspects of sustainability, including mobility, heating emission and land use. Our goal with the Climate Action Navigator is not only to provide valuable insights but also to ensure that it is practically applied, empowering cities and organizations to take concrete steps toward a more sustainable future. By integrating the dashboard and its tools into real-world decision-making processes, we aim to foster changes in how we approach sustainability and climate action.
Launch of the Climate Action Navigator: June 5th, 2025, 2-3 p.m. (CEST)
On June 5th, 2025, we will introduce our newest technology towards a more sustainable future with an online launch event. We will talk to experts from the fields of policy, urban mobility and advocacy to explore the Climate Action Navigator’s wide areas of application. The program for the launch comprises a keynote on leveraging data for climate-friendly cities, in addition to practical sessions that will provide a hands-on exploration of the dashboard. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss with the HeiGIT team.
