HeiGIT at EUGEO 2025

Back to the future: the 15-min city and active mobility indicators
HeiGIT will host a session at this year’s EUGEO Congress taking place from 08.-11.09.2025 in Vienna, Austria.
Location

Vienna, Austria

Date & Time

September 8, 2025 12:00 am

The congress is organized by the Institute for Urban and Regional Research of the Austrian Academy of Sciences with this year’s focus on “Geographies of a Changing Europe”. HeiGITs session will be about sustainable city planning and will gather researchers working on a transition toward a wider use of public transport and active mobility choices. The session will cover research ranging from (but not limited to) indicators quantifying how well people can walk and bike in their city (both objective measurements and subjective perceptions), to routing for walking and cycling that focuses on heat-avoiding, quiet, and green routes.

We want to bring together the numerous research groups working on themes related to this topic to exchange the current status of their work, the problems they face, and potential ways forward. We envisage a session with presentations from the participants, and a panel discussion to exchange ideas and promote networking.
