The German Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction is an annual event that hat serves as a platform for the professional exchange of experts in national and international humanitarian disaster preparedness. Organized by the German Red Cross with support from the German Federal Foreign Office since 2016, it focuses on fostering dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing.

Local Knowledge in Risk Assessments – Experiences from Pakistan
Quantitative risk assessments require diverse data, GIS tools, and expertise. Due to climate change, assessing rapidly changing conditions and integrating local knowledge – often qualitative – is crucial but challenging. We will share our experience integrating local knowledge in a Pakistan Anticipatory Action project for Indus Floods.
