A botanist reports on her research expeditions to the Amazon region, accompanied by numerous pictures. Traveling with biologists and tree climbers in a small international team, the aim is to collect new data on previously unexplored relationships between species richness and functional diversity along the El Niño gradient in Peruvian and Brazilian forest regions.
