What contribution can be made to humanitarian projects by mapping in OpenStreetMap? And what opportunities are there to network with other like-minded people in the Heidelberg and Mannheim region, in other parts of Germany and also on a global scale on the subject of humanitarian cartography?
These questions will be addressed on Wednesday, April 6th, 2022, 7 pm, as part of the “Internationalen Wochen gegen Rassismus 2022” (page 51 in the program) in the scope of a presentation and discussion with representatives of the Mannheimer Mapathons e.V. (Mamapa), HuMap Trier, disastermappers heidelberg, CartONG (FR) and OSM Ghana.
The representatives of the various groups and organizations give an introduction to OpenStreetMap (OSM) and humanitarian mapping in general. In addition, they use their own different works and contexts to explain how collaborative mapping can build bridges and promote intercultural exchange – in the region as well as on an international scope.
Participation is possible both directly on-site at the Volkshochschule in Heidelberg and online (via Zoom). Please register here to facilitate the coordination of the event.
We look forward to a lively discussion 🙂
