Our team is currently looking for:
Student Assistant (m/f/d) for Assistance with the Development of the SketchMapTool
Your tasks will be to support our team in the further development of the SketchMapTool1. The tool is designed to support the collection of spatial data for disaster risk reduction, providing important information for local stakeholders, NGOs and decision makers. So if you would like to contribute to a better and more prepared society you are just right here – with our work we create freely accessible applications with a focus on humanitarian aid, research and non-profit. The tasks primarily consist of writing and maintaining Python code. As we are developing a web application, you will also write HTML, CSS and JavaScript with the aim of implementing new features or maintaining and improving existing features. The language will mostly be English, in exceptional cases German.
Expertise (required):
- Python (incl. experience with OOP)
- Version control (git)
- Software testing
Expertise (beneficial but not required):
- Flask/Django
- Web-Development (experience in HTML, CSS and JavaScript)
- QGIS
- Docker
