In May 2023, Prof. Dr. Alexander Zipf visited the UC Chile (Pontificia Universidad de Catolica de Chile) and the Heidelberg Center for Latin America (HCLA) in Santiago (Chile) together with Anne Schauß, giving two open lectures that showcased past and current works by HeiGIT and GIScience with a focus on potential applications for the governance of risk and resources.
Prof. Dr. Zipf public lecture on “Potential and Challenges of Volunteered Geographic Information” was atteded by several professors from the Santiago University, representatives of the Heidelberg Center for Latin America (HCLA) and other research institutes like CIGIDEN, as well as by a high number of interested students.
A second lecture on “Introduction into Geographic Information System and Applications for Disaster Risk Management” was given by professor Zipf and Anne Schauss at HCLA.
